So we had our first family holiday together to Bali and Lombok for two months.
Wow what an adventure, Olaf had parent leave for 2 months so instead of being in cold Germany we decided to head to sunny and hot Bali and Lombok.
Such a beautiful place and really interesting to travel with two kids.
It was really hard work, but so worth it and now we are home trying to readjust to cold German weather again, and getting back to normal life.
The kids traveling were amazing, flying was brilliant and they slept the entire flight on the way and way back.
We spent two weeks in Beautiful Lombok, Kuta beach where we hired our first Moped. Awesome I was super scared at first but by the end of the holiday we were all experts at getting on and off the bike and generally not freaky out when on the bike. Lombok was a bit of an adventure as our first Moped was stolen and Frankie had a few accidents which required medical assistant, so quite a bit of stress.
After Lombok we headed to the gill islands , beautiful there and really not much to do other then dive and swim and read and relax, more accidents with Frankie so again we weren't super relaxed and found it a bit of a tourist soup there.
After the gills we head straight to Amed to have our first taste of Bali life, oh we loved it there. Snorkelling was amazing and we had ourselves a great hotel on the beach with a fantastic pool. We met up with another family with the same age kids which was a nice change.
After Amed we went straight to Ubud, so far our favourite place on our trip. Everything there, the food, accommodation, people , atmosphere is just great. We found an amazing house to rent with a pool, the kids were also super settled and relaxed. Mum came to visit us for ten days while we were in Ubud and next time I think we will go just there. We would even consider to live there for 6 months to a year, Im still blown away by that place.
The last two weeks were a bit of a struggle for us to find somethings nice as Ubud, Canguu was not nice and the closer we go to Seminyak the crazier and busier it got. SO we headed to Balangan and Bingin for our last nights and again we found that touch of BAli we loved, super relaxed , beautiful beaches. Just a gorgeous place to end our holiday.
Frankie pretty much mastered the art of walking while we were way and Evie is speaking perfect English after our two months in Bali. Both kids are super relaxed since we have come home. Im still jet lagged or maybe just still tired from the lack of sleep on our holiday. Evie´s aim was to swim without floaties by the end of the trip and she made it, awesome, and Frankie learnt to swim with floaties as well.
We had such a brilliant holiday lots of tears lots of laughs and lots of memories.
